Fantastic studies, Matt! I liked how each of them carries a certain intensity, or what I tend to call it, the silent expression of the person, and you've captured them well. I was also drawn to the subtle modeling of the first image, especially around her eye.
Matthew Tarini is a young realist painter living in Toronto. He was trained initially in the traditional academic method and has found it invaluable as a foundation for creating realist works. He is now exploring different ways of expressing himself with paint. Recently he has been referring to the works of other artists he admires for inspiration, ideas and new techniques. Matthew is particularly interested in portraiture and is actively building a body of work in this genre.
