A bird crashed into the window of our house so I decided to draw it after it had died. Unfortunately I did the colour study with the bird in shadow and my painting and pallet in the sunlight.. I didn't know it, but when I went back inside the painting was much darker and less chromatic.

This was a quick (about 45 minutes) plein air study of a sunset.
Bird was doing postmortem Pilates; now it lives on in your art.
